VAUDEVILLE AND TALKIES
<Jn Saturday the Theatre Koyal will present a combined vaudeville and talkie ontertuinment. The act is the first of a number of stage presentations which J. C. Williamson Films aro bringing to New Zealand. This act is the now world-famous "Skating Aviators," who have achieved fame with tno daring and sensational nature of their turn. They perform really dare-devil manoeuvres while on their skates, .and provided a real sensation in Auckland a week or two ago. The picture on the samo programme is also of a special nature, and is one of British Dominions' big releases for the J ear * " "J "The Sleeping Cardinal, ' adapted from two of Sir Arthur Con&n Doyle s flne "The Emptv House" and ' The Final Problem." It brings to the screen that wellknown character, Sherlock Holmes, and of course, with him is Dr. Watson. The English Press were unstinting in praiso of the production, which they unanimously agreed was one of the most entertaining nlm6 yet released by British producers.
