THE LATE HON. T. S. WESTON.
AN APPRECIATION. Mr T. 0. Bishop, who was closelyassociated .with the late Hon. T. ' Sliailer Weston in the work of the A'ew' Zealand Employers' Federation, has paid the following tribute to -his. memory;— ' "I have been' asked to write an appreciation of my Ja'to 1 chief and very dear friend,, the Hon. J". Sliailer Wes-j ton, and I sincerely wish that I could do so in a way that would convey to others my own knowledge of him.' ! I liave known,him for just about twelve years, and our friendship had become so real ( and intimate that there is no one outside my own family whose death, could have left me with such a sense of personal bereavement as I now feel i To* know him intimately was t<i hold him lir affection. ' The keynote of 'his 'life - was service. He "helped ttcry one whom he thought needed kelp with a whole-hearted thoroughness. iu fact he . took other pcsples troubles too-much to' heart for his own; lieacO'Gf'niind.'Me had an intense love' of New Zealand; and for many years Jmd given himself to the service of his country with a real desire to promote tho -welfare and happiness of his fel- - iw-citizons. ; . -'To me his outstanding- quality was "is perfect loyalty to his. friends and colleagues. • it was .a positive inspiration to work with him; he. gave one such wonderful support. He was always wilting to shoulder a full share of I'csponsibility while work was .being "°no, and when it reached n successful l ormination, to stand modestly .aside and give others the credit. J3y his wonderful personal qualities ho had loathed.an honourable position in his profession of tho law, and had won a place in the affections of a very wido circle of friends. Many will feel with ..w.o that we are the poorer for his Passing."
