Tlie main factor in the recovery was a reassuring announcement from the lending baiucs that the Wheat Pools would not be forced to dump supplies on the market. AID FOR CANADIAN GROWERS. WHEAT BONUS SUGGESTED. (Received November ISth, 10.10 p.m.) TORONTO, November 17. The Premiers, Mr John Bracken, Mr J. T. M. Anderson, and Mr J. E. Brownlee, of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta respectively, consulted with banking interests to-day regarding the wheat price situation. It was stated that "successful interviews" had been held. "We liave come to save the economic structure of Western Canada," Mr Bracken said. An emergency subvention to aid the farmers of Western Canada will be urged upon the Federal Government when the three Premiers confer with Government officials hero on Tuesday, following the conference between tho Premiers and bankers.

A wheat bonus will be sought in an attoint.p to stabilise Canadian prices and tide the farmers over the present crisis until world conditions improve. TAMPERING SUSPECTED. OTTAWA, November 17. i Suspecting that Canadian grain conbigned to the British Isles is being tampered with, the Dominion Grain Commission has ordered an investigation. British millers complain that | the wheat is found to contain an intecticide. A preliminary investigation indicates that the chemical is not used in Canada. FEDERAL FARM BOARD'S OPERATIONS. ! WASHINGTON, November 17. The chairman, Mr A. Legge, of tha Federal Farm Board, announced that the Grain Stabilisation Corporation, was buying wheat both in cash and futures markets in its stabilisation operation;. VICTORIAN EGGS. THE EXPORT TRADE. Influenced by favourable realisations In the London market, and the large surplus sSpply available, Victorian egg shippers intend extending the export seaßOu. Activities are to he prolonged to the end of November. Usually few shipments leave for London after the end of October. The Australian Egg and Export Co., Ltd., the Victorian Egg Pool and Export Co., and the London Export Co. Pty., Ltd., have booked the shipping space required. They expect that the minimum value for export quality will be £>d per dozen during November, which should stabilise the local market at present values during that period. In the current season these organisations have shipped 32,110 cases, aad it is thought that a further 19,500 cases will be sent next month, the value of which is estimated at £107,381. A packing floor was opened in Adelaide in August last. Surplus eggs were purchased, graded, and packed for exportj and 5200 cases were dispatched overseas. A further 4000 cases will be shipped during next month. The exportation of eggs, the companies state, has resulted in the prevention of cool storage during the shipping period, which it is believed will reflect favourably on prices during the winter months. These factors, to-

gether vrith limiting offerings of Adelaide eggs in Melbourne, have made it possible to maintain a reasonably steady market during the past tiro months. AUSTRALIAN STOCKS IN LONDON.
