"When one remembers that every function is down, and seriously flown," he said, "it will be seen that our decrease in takings is only in sympathy, and we must not be too pessimistic. Deficiency Only On Buses. "At this time last year the deficiency for tho financial year to date ™? 3 ~f2 677 -. n is now £7101 » a decline of £424 with 5i months more to go. Last year ended, on March Sl3t, with a surplus in the tram account of £3561. There appears to be a reasonable prospect that this financial year will clo3e w:th no deficiency. t Buses. "The deficiency on buses for the whole of last year was £ISBB, to which must be added tho subsidised services, a total of £3567. ialcing the interim position, for the first 28 weeks of last year, the deficiency was £2404. "For the same period this year the deficiency is £1997, an improvement of £407 for the 28 weeks. If this is maintained for the balance of the year the annual deficiency on buses will be reduced from £3567 to, say, £2800."
