Page, S.M., on a charge of carrying on the business of a bookmaker. Detective-Sergeant Holmes said accused had been carrying on business in a substantial way. Betting books found on him contained approximately 150 and 100 entries respectively. They mostly related to bets on races which started in Christcliurcli on Saturday and ranged from os to £l.
