APARIMA BRIDGE.
OFFICIAL OPENING. (FBCSS ASSOCIATION TELXQRAH.) INVERCARGILL, November 12. Commenced about two years ago by the Public Works Department, the new traffic bridge over the Aparima river at Riverton was officially opened this afternoon by Mr Adam Hamilton. M.P. The bridge is a concrete structure 440 feet in length, composed of eleven 40-feet spans, and has a footpath four feet in width. The estimated cost is £27,300, including roadWays of 18 feet, and it is expected that it will be completed under estimated cost. Two-thirds of this cost is l>orn« by the Main Highways Board and the remainder by the local bodies concerned.
