Gilbert Grigg, of the Country team, was tho most prolific scorer, notching four of the six scores gained by his team. For Town, D. W. J. Gould was outstanding, with P. D. Hall playing well. Town had a decided advantage at the beginning of the game, which Country slowly reduced until they were two goals in the lead, with only five minutes to play. Town came to light again at the last, and managed to bring the scores even before the four chukkas were ended. Tho teams were as follows: Town—P. D. Hall 1, G. B. McCredie 2, D. W. J. Gould 3, H. G. Livingstone back. Country—S. Bethell 1 Gilbert Grigg 2, J. H. Grigg 3, Major G. F. Hutton back. The Play. Town went away from the start, and Gould took the ball right through, to score an easy one. Town 1, Country 0. Then McCredie had a chance from close in, and Town were two goals in the lead. A period of ragged play followed before Gilbert Grigg took tho ball all the way up field to give Country their second goal. Country nearly scored again, but Livingstone saved, and just missed scoring himself. The chukka ended with the score: Town 4, Country 2. Country continued to attack in the third chukka, the Town players mishitting a lot and becoming lesß accurate. Gilbert Grigg'a speed let him away for a score, Bethell breaking a.way soon after from halfway, and putting Country on even terms. Hutton was next, Town being unable to stop the Country dashes, and at the end of the chukka Country led by 5 to 4. After the spell play was lively for a time, some of the ponies being overfrisky. Gilbert Grigg scored his fourth goal by breaking through immediately, and Town then attacked strongly. They took play to the Country goal, where Livingstone made no mistake from close in, and shortly after, Hall took the ball away for the last goal of the. match. The game ended: Town 6, Country 6.
