THE TRAVIS BEQUEST.
RESEARCH COUNCII/S REPORT. That a qualified tuberculosis investigator, to be assisted by a statistical clerk, be appointed, and that the Department of Health be approached with n view to having all cases of tuberculosis made a notifiable disease, aro two of the recommendations of the committee, set up by the Travis Bequest Research Council, to outline the best means of making research into tho two diseases of- mlxJrculosis and cancer. At-a meeting of the Council held on Thursday there were present Messrs H. Pearce (chairman). 0. Bergh, H. J. Otley, Drs. Aclana, Aitken, Fenwick, Fox, J Guthrie, N. Guthrie, Telford, E. F. Thomson, and Will. Tho report also recommended that for ennoor research a research expert and a laboratory attendant be appointed, to be assisted by a statistical clerk r one clerk acting for both tuberculosis and cancer departments. Th»j recommendations were adopted, and it was decided to set up an executive committee consisting of the trustees of the bequest, Messrs Bergh and Peareo, and three doctors. Dr. Fox, J)r. Will, and Dr. Thomson jvere npnojnted to the committee. The executive committee was instructed to (to into the details of the proposal nnd to take such steps as might be necessarv to get into touch with suitable persons to fill the various positions.
