THE MAJESTIC THEATRE.
"THE BATTLE OF PARIS." Gertrude Lawrence, who has already made her bow to Christchurcb audiences in short pictures, will be seen in her ftrit feature* length production at the Majestic Theatre next week, "The Battle of Paris." Next in importance to Miss Lawrence in this picture is Charles Buggies, who will forever be remembered as the elegant inebriate of "The Lady Lies," and the Inelegant inebriate reporter of "Roadhouso Mights." Ruggles can be drunk with more humour and deoency than any other actor of stage or screen, and ho has some great scenes in VThe Battle' of Paris." This picture la a new departure for screen oroft. Neither a musical comedy, nor a comic opera, nor a straight-out comedydrama, It ii just a Gertrude Lawrence musical romance, with a splendid plot, tome great .comedy scenes, some enchanting singing, and some stormily dramatic scenes that lift- ".The Battle of Parie" right out of the rut. Between them, she and Charles Buggies make this picture a classic of fun, frivolity, *ong, and-drama, staged in beautiful Paris. something that starts off with the cheerful pop of a .champagne bottle, and goes on like that lor three acts. The box plans aro now open at The Bristol. "DANGEROUS PARADISE." Heading the oast of "Dangerous Paradise," the picture at present showing at the Majeetio Theatre are the renowned pair.
