BANKS PENINSULA. The twenty-first annual meeting o£ members of the Banks Peninsula A. and P. Association was held at Little River on Saturday, whan there wore present: Messrs Lfco Fahey (president, in the chair), N. K. Maofarlane, A. V. Hutchinson, H. Birdling, J. Chapman, E. E. Patten, T. Thompson, S. S. Barclay, H. T. Chapman, A. Thompson, S. W. Birdling, S. G. Robertson, P. Crockett, W. Jacobson, J. Plynn, and H. L. Lewtliwaite. The president moved a motion of sympathy with the families of members who had passed away since the previous annual meeting.—Carried. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mr S. H. Ussher in Ills illness, and. -wishing him a speedy recovery. Mr 3. 3. McGrath and Mrs N. Sneli were elected members of the Association. The Milking Shorthorn Association wrote that 12 2a would be given by the association for the Milking Shorthorn classes. The Cobs' and Ponies'- Association wrote offering £3 3s in prize-money for cob and pony classes. TTie Workers' Educational Association wrote in regard to lectures and classes.—lt was decided to support the movement. .Mr L. M. Fahey (president) presented the annual report, which, showed that the Association had had a very successful year. The membership totalled 225, and the Association had £3OO on deposit, bearing interest at 5 per cent. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr N. K. Macfarlane was elected president for the ensuing year. Officers were ■ elected as follows: —Vice-presidents, Messrs S. C. Robertson and H, A. Birdling; hon. treasurer, Mr H. L. Lowthwaite; hon. veterinary surgeons, Lieutenant-Colonel J. Stafford and Mr H. S. S. Kyle, M.P.; auditor, Mr J. W. K. Lawrence: General Committee, Messrs S. S. Barclay, T. Brankin, P. W. Crockett, P. Crump, G. H. Dickson, W. Pairweatlier, J. J. Plynn, A. W. Harris, J. G. Humphries A. V. Hutchinson, W. Jacobson, J. McQueen. T. Mould, E. E Patten, T. Robinßon, T. E Stanbury, P. G. Stanbury, T. Stewart, W H. Taylor, A. Thompson, J. H. Watson, J. R. White, J. 3. MeGaTth, and Miss Hilda Montgomery; secretary. Mr W. Stanbury; assistant-secretary, Mr L. Weallens. The General Committee waa elected ts a Ground Committee, with the addition of Messrs H. C. Bainea. J. Johnson, J. Lewthwaite, F. Hunt, D. P. Foley, J. W. Smith, T. TC. Stanbury, and Goo. Turren. Various committes were elected, mid also marshals and stewards. The president eaid the Winter Show Oora ffiittee wanted to know the feeling of the Association as to whether they should carry on tho Winter Show next year, ft had beeD suggested that an organiser shcnld be appointed to improve the Pcninsula-Ellesmere Bay; m fact, 'two organisers should be appointed—oaa hs iiilesmere and oaa for Peninsula. .. Mr J. V. Chapman said lie thought it would be a great pity to abandon the Winter Show. It advertised Peninsula pro duce. The Peninsula Ellesmere Bay was only SO points behind, and the exhibit must have been a good one. He moved that the Winter Show be supported.—Carried. . Mr H. A. Birdling said that the Peninsula and Ellesmere people should have started earlier on their bay, and should have been collecting exhibits all through the year. Mr Thompson said he thought the Association should ask *or some share of the profits of the Winter Show. The Little River branch of the Farmers' Union offered £1 Is for the best exhibit of domestic produce at the show. Mr P. Crockett moved that classes for graded Shorthorns, Jerseys, and Holsteins should take the place of the crossbred dairy cow classes.—Carried. It was decided to delete the age limit for the pet lamb class, and to alter the pony class from ponies under 11 hands to ponies under 11.2 hands.
