MUSICAL COMEDY COMPANY
"SO THIS IS LOVE." The J. C. Williamson Musical Comedy Company will open their return season on Saturday, September 13th, with the London musical euoceaa, "So This ia Lov<3," said to bo fuiinior than "Love Lies." This musical offering has been playing with great success in the Winter Garden, London, for .some months past. Clem Daxva haa tha chief comedy role, and he is credited with a greater success than ha made of Jerry Walker in "Love Lies " The settings in thia new production aro gliiinoroua enough for the most critical, and the gaily frocked ballet giilfl will be ari additional attraction to every number. Tha Sun Kist ballet will hava a surprise for you, and Delaney and Zeppel will prosent another hair-raising dancing specialty. Catherine Stuart, everyone's favourite. Betty Eley, Mona Barlee, Michael Cole, Bobby Gordon. Dan Agar, Paul PlunVeU. Marie Eaton, Compton Coutts Eric Tldg'ey, Les Whito, and a host of others will help along the fun. In this play, as in "Love Lies,' the scenery alone ia worth seeing, apart from anything else. The first scene shows a stately panelled hall, where a streamer-hung gallery helps towards th* originality of effect. Th« artist dtetgner evidently lealised the attraction of a glimpse of radiant sea, and included it most artistically Hugo spreading trees and » creaper-hung porch, showing through an open door, portion of the room beyond, and with a background of beautiful sea and green shrubbery, provide tha second scono. The ballet, as usual, dance delightfully, wearing during the play some e.'itrancingly pretty frocks. Perhaps their most outstanding performance of the whole eoason is when, in scarlet frocks with hats and shoes to match, they dance before a •c'cna wh&ro trees and sky and all are a biar.n of emerald green. The box plans opon tomorrow at The Bristol.
