LINESMAN ELECTROCUTED.
1 (MESS ASSOCIATION 'l'ULtdnAU.y WHAKATANE, September 8. Tho foreman telegraph linesman for the Whakatane district, D. C. P. Dawson, was electrocuted shortly before noon to-day while engaged in removing a telegraph line to alio* a bridge pile driver to operate at the new bridge on McLean's road, about six miles from Whakatane. One linesman cut the telegraph wire, which bounced up and made contact with an electric power line. Two men were holding the wire. Dawson was instantly electrocuted. He had been a linesman in the Whakatane distri i for eighteen years.
