NEW SOUTH WALES DISPUTE SETTLED. (UNITED "BBSS ASfIOCIATIOJf—BI ELKCTBIO TELEGRAPH—COPTBIOHT.) SYDNEY, September 8. The dispute over the control of golf in Now South Wales has been settled. After negotiations extending over many months a decision was reached in the formation of the New South Wales Golf Association. This body takes over the duties formerly undertaken by the New South Wales Golf Council, the Country and Suburban Golf Association, and tho Districts Golf Association. One of the great advantages expected from tho change is uniformity of control. AMBERLEY CLUB. On Saturday the last round of the Frew Cup was played in conjunction with the fifth round of the Campbell Rose Bowl. The following qualified for the Frew Cup, and will play off as under:—P. R.Busch plays L. V. Rhodes, J. A. Mayo plays A. A. Holland. The Happy Valley Cup, for the best net aggregate in the qualifxing rounds of the championships, was won by L. V. Khodes. KAIKOURA CLUB. The stroke competition played on the Kaikcura links on Saturday was won by Dr. R. L. Withers, with a net score of 74. The following championship matches were played:— Ladies—Mrs Robinson beat Miss E. Mackle and will play Miss M. Mackle in the final. Men's Senioi:—O'Callaghan beat Mogridge, Withers beat E. Flower. Men's Junior—Lovett beat Workman and will play T. Flower in tho final. The championship finals should be played next weekend. The following finals should also bo played next week-end:—Captain's trophy (ladies): Miss E. Mackle v. Miss M. Mackle. Men: Mogridge v. Lovett. President's trophy: Mogridge v. Lovett. HAWARDEN CLUB. Saturday's medal match was won by D. G. Wilson with a card showing » net 72. In the first round of the club championship D. H. Fisher beat J. F. C. Wilson, C. V. Jackman beat Dr. Hunter, and G. L. Rutherford beat D. G. Wilson. The draw for next Saturday's stroke competition is as follows:—D. H. Fisher and B. L. Blunden, G. L. Mrs Hunter was the winner of Thursday's club medal with a net 63, Miss Blunden with a net 64 being second. Mrs Hunter also handed in the best L.G.U. Bcore, her card reading 101—30—71. Mrs A. D. Allan was next with 106—30—76. Saturday's bogey match was won by Miss Blunden, who was 1 down on bogey. Mrs Cowie was second with 8 down. The semi-final of the Canadian foursome, in which Mrs Dalzell and Mrs Reese will play Mrs Webb and Miss Dwyer, must be played by September 17th.
