THE WEATHER. The southerly gale which commenced at Lyttelton 011 Saturday continued until yesterday afternoon. Light snow fell almost continuously late on Sunday night until well in to yesterday morning. The wind dropped about midday, but rain continued to fall all the afternoon and evening. Shipping in port, was further delayed, and the sailing of several vessels was postponed until to-day. Adverse weather also prevented work on the waterfront at both Timaru and Dunedin. The Opilti, which left Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon for Dunedin, took 48 hours to do the trip against a heavy head sea and gale. The Calm, which left Lyttelton 011 Saturday afternoon for Bluff, passed Ota go Hcad.s at 3.30 yesterday afternoon. Harbour Liglit Theatre. "The Mighty/' a drama .starring George Bancroft, will be repeated at the Harbour Light Theatre this afternoon and evening, with a good supporting programme. , To-morrow "The Love Doctor," a comedy-romance featuring Richard Dix, will be screened. The supporting programme include* a songcartoon, songs, another of ilie famous Composers series, and a comedy. Trinity Tennis Club. Owing to the inclement weather there was only a small attendance at the annual meeting oC the Trinity Tennis Club last evening, and the meeting adjourned until Monday next. Those present decided to circularise members regarding tho proposal to re-lay one of the courts.
