BRIDGE PARTY.

The Papanui sub-branch of the Plunket Society is a particularly active and enthusiastic body, the members of which are tireless workers in the interests of the Society. The sub-branch, practically since its foundation, has been fortunate in having had the use of St. Paul's Schoolroom at Papanui—a privilege which it has greatly appreciated —but, as its activities increase and the sphere of its work widens, it is anxious to acquire premises of its own. Consequently, the members are working hard to raise money to buy a well-situated uection and erect a suitable building in the near future. For this purpose, a bridge party, arranged by the committee, was held last night at Jellicoe Hall, and notwithstanding the dreary weather* conditions it was a great success.
