W.C.T.U.
The usual monthly meeting of the Sydenham Branch of the W.C.T.U. was hold in tho Baptist Schoolroom on Thursday, Mrs J. K. Archer, vicepresident, presiding. The attendance was not large owing to the inclemency of the weather. Mrs Perritt reported on the work to. be done by the Union in connexion with the spring fair. Mrs Scaife was appointed convener of the sweets stall, with Mesdames Johnson. Stewart, and Gillard as helpers. All members were asked to provide sweetfs and to help decorate the stall In commemoration of Franchise Day. Miss Henderson gave an interesting address on "The Laws and Rights of Women in the Past and Present," and was accorded a vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served by the Social Committee.
