AMBULANCE BRIGADE.
WORK FOR THE WEEK. A mooting of tho Christchurch Corps staff of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was held on Tuesday evening at the Brigade rooms in Gloucester street. Lieut.-Colonel F. W. W. Dawson was in the chair. Conditions governing the annual corps competitions were fully discussed, and final arrangements were made for the opening, which will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th, at the King Edward Barracks. A general invitation is extended to the publio to be present on this occasion, and special invitations are being sent out to local bodies and the various organisations and Associations which are brought in touch with the work of tho Brigade throughout the year. The Christchurch Nursing Division held their meeting on Monday. The lady superintendent presided over a good attendance of members, and after the formal business of the evening, members were taken in first aid, transport, and roller bandaging. Owing to increasing numbers in this division and the srnallness of rooms at their disposal members find themselves somewhat cramped for space in drill and transport practice. Two cases requiring first aid were reported from Hagley Park playing fields on Saturday last The Christchurch Ambulance Men'S Division held thir usual meeting on Wednesday evening, under Superintendent W. Wootton. There were sixteen members on parade, and after the usual business of the evening, members were taken in first aid tests by tho superintendent. The usual members were detailed for public duty at the football grounds to-day, and Private Roberts was detailed for duty at the races.
