The Progress, which arrived from Dunedin yesterday, is expected to sail to-day for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Gale is due from Oamaru on, September Bth to load for Lyttolton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Tho John is duo from Dunedin on September 9th to take cargo for Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Opihi is expected from Oamaru on Monday to load for Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and Now Plymouth: The Wingatui is due from Dunedin on September 9th to tnko cargo for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Port Waikato is duo from Dunedin on 6'optember loth to load for Lyttolton, Tauranga, W'hangarei, and Dargaville. The Armadale is due from Lyttelton on September 10th to load moat and general cargo for London. She will go to Dunedin on September 11th to continue loading. The Middlesex is expected from Oamaru on September 12th to load meat and general cargo for London, and West Coast English ports. She will sail for Lyttolton on September 13th to continue loading.

TRANS-PACIFIC SERVICE. The following are the movements of the Ui.ion Company's cargo steamors in the trans-Pacific service:— Ilauraki left Fanning Island on August 30tti for Vancouver, where due September 11th. Waihemo left Auckland on August 16th for Vancouver direct, where due September 10th. Waiotapu leavos Newcastle to-day for Vancouver via Fiji. Waikawa left Lyttellon yesterday for Duncdin and Bluff. Iteturns Vancouver via Westport and Suva. Wait una left Los Angeles on August 16th, due Auckland September lOtb, Wellington IGth, Melbourne 26th, and Sydney 30th. R<v turns Vancouver direct. The Tees is duo from Wellington to-day to load timber for return. The Parera is due on Monday from Gisborne to load coal for return. The Regulus is due to-day from Onakaka to load coal for return to Onakaka and Wanganui. The Orepuki left Wellington yesterday for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth with general cargo. After discharging she loads coal and timber for Nelson and Onakaka. The Kalingo will take iu a full cargo of timber at Newcastle and at Coffs Harbour, N.S.W., for Lyttelton and Greymouth.

The Osaka Shosen Kaisha line will inaugurate a new programme of extending their operations to Now Zealand with the Brisbane Maru, which, after loading at various ports during this month, is due at Wellington early in November. It depends on the amount of cargo offering whether the tscrvico will be maintained regularly.
