During a trip to the West Coast Sounds last weolr (states : the "Western Star"); Mr N. Beer's crew saw a large vessel steaming straight for the shore some few miles from Preservation Inlet. A dense fog prevailed at the time, and fortunately those in charge of the vessej the land some two , hundred yards away and turned the vessel's bead to sea.
