"THIN MAN" ESCAPES. (Eeceived August 31st, 5,5 p.m.) PAEIS, August 30. Marcel Pouclitt, formerly "thin man" on show at country fairs, became a transgressor and was imprisoned. He began a hunger-strike, refusing to enlighten the warders why he was sulking. They however soon discovered the motive, when they found, the cell empty, for Pouclitt had wriggled through the window bars.

Among those who called at the Foreign Office and .were received by the Secretary of State this afternoon was the Shiek Hafiz Waba. the first Minister of the Kinsrdom of Hejas and Najd to be accredited to the Court oi St. James.
