SUMNER LIFEBOAT.
A SATISFACTORY TRIAL.
The new lifeboat at Sumner, Rescue 11., was taken , out bar for the first time during the weekeiThe skipper (Mr George Hams of Redcliffs) was at the helm, and the hfetoat ran with a fairly heavy following sea, making the bar in good st yle. Putting about, she breasted he breakers splendidly, but on taking tho bar a second time she was three breakers in succession, shaping water enough to sink any ordinary boat. She was almost awash but riding the next breaker all the water aboard - was got rid of within a minute, and she crossed without further incident. . • .. The lifeboat then returned to the base at Scarborough, the members being well satisfied their new boat will stand up to anything that may be required of it.
