Both tho singles events arc now allAmerican finals. Following Wednesday's thrilling Til-dcn-Borotra match to-day's fare at Wimbledon was tame, all the doubles ending in accordance with expectation. To-day Crawford and Miss Ryan reached tho semi-final of tho mixed doubles by means of a comfortable victory over the Americans. Allison found his partner, Miss Cross, a heavy handicap, as she was outclassed. There was no surprise in Crawford's and Miss Ryan's triumph, seeing that tho latter is rated as tho world's best mixed doubles partner, while Allison's partner was most l'eeblo by comparison. Miss Ryan proved not only an efficient player, but directed a strategy of persistent lobbing, which slowed down shots, in tho third set. This worried Allison and Miss Cross more than tho hardest driving. Crawford was much more active and accurate than iu the earlier games, and pullod liis full share of tho victors' effort.
