REDUCTION IN PRICE OF CREAM. PRIME MINISTER'S STATEMENT. (OTBTZB nusa ASSOCUTKW—BT UZCTBIC rauoura—COPTBIOHT.) (Received July 3rd, 11.15 p.m.) VANCOUVER, July 3. Speaking at Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, tto. Dominion Prime Minister, Mr W. Ii Mackenzie King, declared that representations had' been made to him to theeffeet that, there were strong grounds fbff believing that the recent reduction in'prices paid to farmers on cream were dse to tbe secret operation of a combin* to increase its profits, and that the importation of New Zealand butter under the New Zealand Treaty was being made a cloak for the operations of the combine. He intimated that if prima facie reasons were shown that such a combine was at work and that tbe New Zealand Treaty was being made a eloak to serve the interests of any combine, an Investigation into the matter would be made under the Combines Act.
