CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. Til* Management Committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association met last evening, i'reient: Messrs B. A. Campbell (chairman). H. W. Roger*, W. H. Down, L. Byera, O. Graham, B. Prebble, B. W. Rogers, B. Snooks, L. Ward, F. Fullwood, and A. h. Graham. Gower applied for the affiliation of the Mid-Canterbury Sub-Association, which includes the Tinwajd, Methven, Rakaia, and 1 Ashburton clubs, and it was decided ,to recommend that the affiliation ba granted at the next general meeting of delegatea. The Marlborough Association application (or a match on July 6th was declined. The explanation of the Ranglora Club's withdrawal of their junior team was accepted and the reinstatements applied for were granted. The New Zealand Association wrote intimating that in response to the request of the Canterbury Association it had decided to accept July 19th as the date for the shield match Canterbury v; Wellington. R. Gracie and W. H. Down were nominated as -eferees for the match against Wellington. The consideration of the postponement of competition matches on July 19th, on the occasion of the shield match, was held over till next meeting. The Judiciary Committee reported having suspended a Selwyn senior player for three playing Saturdays for adversely criticising a referee's capabilities. The report was adopted. On the motion of Mr Rogers it was decided to apply to the Canterbury Rugby Union for permission to play the shield match Canterbury v. Wellington on July 19th, on Lancaster Park as a curtain-raiser to the Rugby football fixture.
