CANTERBURY CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The fortnightly social of tho Canterbury Caledonian Society was hold at the Caledonian Hall, and was well attended. Tho chair was occupied by tho president (Mr 0. S. Thomas). With him on tho platform were Messrs Geo. Sey and W. Edginlon, vicepresidents, and Mr J. T. Caldow, i director. Six new members were olected. Tho programme was in tho hands of Messrs M. J. Burns and T. J. Whyte, directors, and the following contributed items:— Selections by the Society's Pipe Band; song, Miss K. Chappeil: Highland Fling, Miss Irene Clark; violin solo. Miss Chamberlain; vocal duet, Misses L. Colville ' and M. Fisher; sword dance. Miss M. Frasbr; song, Mrs Stallard; Tommy Atkins dance, Miss B. Carnochan; Seann Triubhais, Miss Muriel Biggs; piping selection, Pipbr Wakefield; song, 'Mr B. Rennell: Highland Reel, Misses I. Clark, M. Biggs, M. Fraser, and J. Fraser. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Boschctti, Mrs J. Cocks, and Mr G. C. Russell. Mr E. Jackson's Orchestra supplied tho music for tho dance which followed.
