A special generul meeting of/the New Zealand Boxing- A'3Bociation, rolled- to consider breaches.of tha-.rulos in regard to,,limitation of purses, was attended-by delegates, from eleven associations. ■ The' meeting' was . asked to - consider the council's report upon- the Wellington, North'em, Napier, .Taranaki, and Otago Boxing Associations for breachea-ot' the 'rules in the matter of purses and expenses, and to consider the action of these" Associations, in forwarding incorrect : returns to tho council. The council considers that, under its present rules, ,tuero is no adequate provision l for disciplining offending-Associations. It asked the meeting to consider also certain amendments" to'"'give the council power" to de'ul adequately with offences by local Associations. 'Tho meeting *is proceeding, in icommittoe. It was'.decided to endorso , the Boxing Council's proposal to ,send u team of amateurs- to Adstralia in September, provided that the team, meets an. Australian: team,' and not State.champions only. • Tho Taranaki Association will have first •all.on: the Johnnie Leckie'Tommy Donovan return match for the professional title, of the Dominion. ' Leckie meets Sammy Shack, the American, at,Auckland,on.June 3rd, and will decide after .this contest the date on which ho' will meet Donovan at New Plymouth.
