DOMAINS BOARD.

ANNUAL AND ORDINARY MEETINGS.

The Domains Board met yesterday. Present: Messrs George Harper, H. Kitson, F. George, S. A. Orchard, A. H. Shruhshall, F. 11. Cooke, J. F. ScSott, R. B. Owen, H. Eaglesome, W. T. Foster. Hon. D. Buddo, Mrs E. R. M"Combs, and Mrs A. I. Fraer. As it was the annual meeting, the election of chairman was the first business.

Mr George Harper was re-elected chairman, and Mr F. George was reelected deputy-chairman. The Standing Committees wero reelected, the only alteration being the inclusion of Mr George as a member of the Finance Committee' in place of the late Mr P. W. Sharpe. The Gardens and Parks Committee reported that the quotation of Messrs Vale and Co., Ltd., for an automatic fireman, at £l5O. for the machine comr plete and fitted into the boiler had been accepted. The Curator (Mr James Young) reported that work in hand was the preparation of new beds and borders for planting , azaleas, irises, and other flowering plants. Dead trees were being cut down and preparations for re-plant-ing were in hand A start bad been made with, the cultivation of the land near the. tennis courts.

Mr George brought up the matter of a ground for the Ricearton League Football Club in North Park, and moved that the matter be referred to the Parks and Gardens Committee, together with a lotter to be received from the Ricearton Borough Council. Mr Buddo seconded and said that the matter of finding sports grounds was becoming a serious one. He suggested that the junior teams should use the grounds on other afternoons than Saturdays. A "member said that a start had been made with the ploughing of the area desired by the League Club. Mr Buddo: Then why raise the question ?

Mr George: Because I promised to do so.

The chairmin said that the remarks of Mr Buddo were worth considering. motion was agreed to.
