CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The ninth annual meeting of the Christ? church Barriers Club wai held in the Y.M.C.A. last evening, Mr 0. 0, Lockwood presiding. ... In presenting the annual report the chair* nan said they had had a very successful season in spite of the fact that several of their outstanding raemberß had left to form other clubs, thus benefiting the sport. The club's performances at the last Canterbury championships stamped it as the premier oJub in the province. The report stated that there were a* financial members of the club, four more than in the previous season. The total attendance of 680 during the season was a record, while the average attendance of 29 was considered very satisfactory. Attendance badges for members attending every run were awarded to Messrs G. L. Austin, H. Cookson, J. P. Pascoe, and A. J, Wagner. , , The thanks of the club were due to their various hosts, whose generosity had done so much towards making the runs the success they were. The committee wished to place on record its gratitude to Mr J. Cracroft Wilson and the landholders of Hoon Hay,' without whose assistance the club would be greatly handicapped. Thanks were also due to Mr J. McKee, whose work as handicapper and se'lector had contributed greatly to the club's success, and to Mr C. H. Taylor, jun., for presenting capß to members of the Canterbury team. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr R. L. Kennett for his generosity in giving a challenge cup for a club teams' scratch race, to be competed for annually by any club in the Dominion along the lines of the Edmond Cup in Dunedin, the race to be run in Christchurch under the auspices of the Chrlstchureh Harriers' Club.
