THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS.. NO COMPROMISE MOTION RESCINDED. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BT ELECTBIO TELE OS APH—COPTBIQ HT.) (Received March 26th, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 26. The latest developments in the coal trouble are reported from an authoritative source to be that the no compromise motion before the Miners' Convention has been rescinded. The owners and miners meet on Friday, after which aggregate meetings will be held in the northern fields. MINERS RESCIND EARLIER DECISION. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO GRANT SUBSIDY. (Received March 27th, 12.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 26. The Miners' Convention, by a large majority, rescinded its no-compromise decision of yesterday. Mass meetings are to be held to confirm or reject the action of the convention. The Federal Government has agreed to grant the miners a of ninepence a ton for a certain period as a trial. NO COMPROMISE DECISION. [ REGARDED AS A GESTURE. (Received March 26th,'9.6 p.n>.) SYDNEY, March 26. The decision of the Miners' Convention to continue tHe fight in opposition to reduced wages is regarded among mining unions as a gesture with • a view to bringing pressure to bear on the Federal Government to subsidise the industry.
