MONICA PARK. After weeks of negotiation,- the management of Monica Park Speedway has secured the appearance of Wally Kilmister, of Wellington, for Saturday next. No dirt-track rider in Australia or New Zealand has liad such a meteoric rise to fame as has Kilmister. Last year, when the Speedway was opened in Wellington, Kilmister had never seen the sport, and commenced in the novice class. Then, this season, mounted on a new machine, he immediately began to win his way to fame, and within three weeks of the opening of the season he was riding off scratch in company with the best Australians. Throughout, he has maintained that position. Among his many victories he counts some over such famous men as Pearce, Spinks, and Van Praag. He is the only New Zealand rider to meet these men on equal terms, and on Saturday night the Christchurch public will be able to see him in a triangular match race against Pearce and Van Praag. Last week these two "Aussies" gave thrill after thrill as they fought out three tremendous battles. Pearce was the victor in two, \yhile Van Praag won the other, but seldom, if ever, have such fast races been seen at Monica Park. This week they will meet again, and with Van Praag completely recovered from his accident of last week which militated against his best performances last Saturday, he should give the champion and Kilmister the race of their lives.

In addition to these "stars," two Wellington riders, "Lofty" Naylor and Peter Phillips, will appear in a special scratch race asainst local riders. Next to Kilmister, Naylor is Wellington's best rider, and it will be of interest to Bee how our men stand up to him.

E. R. Marsh, N. R. Gray, W. Thomas, and all the other local boys are in good form and a new comer to the cinders in A. Smith will be seen in action. Smith is well" known as a great beach rider here, and he Is keen to try out his paces on the cinders. Reserved seats can again be obtained at Range's, United Service Buildings.
