Wellington—The weather yesterday was sunny, with passing clouds, but the northerly which had blown for several days with fair strength changed about noon to southerly! and the temperature dropped considerably. Although rain threatened in the evening, and there was a light sprinkle, the night was fine and starry. Dunedin—The weather was very unsettled and cold yestorday and rain fell at intervals. The wind was light from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 50 degrees. The barometer is rising. Forecast. The depression to the eastward has again increased in intensity, but has. now commenced to move away. Ari intense anticyclone is centred over Tasmania and moving, towards the Dominion.

Present indications are for moderate to strong south-west or southerly winds equally at first on the East Coast, seas rough in Cook Strajt and south of Castlepoint, elsewhere moderate to rather rough, but decreasing on the West Ccast; moderate southerly winds and moderating seas in the eastern Tasman; tbo weather mainly fine and improving in western districts from Taranaki southwards, elsewhere cold, changeable, and showery, but improving everywhere to-morrow; some frosts inland in the South Island.
