Dalgety and Co., Ltd., hare received . the following cablegram from their London office, dated March 25th:— Butter—Prices are Is to 2s lower. Cheese—Prices are Is lower for coloured cheese. COLOMBO TEA SALES. (TRSS3 ASSOCIATION TBUSGBAM.) DTTNEIUN. March 26. The quantity offered at this week's tea auction in Colombo was 3,600,0001b. Common. and low medium binds were steady,, but other grades wore slightly easier. Next week's catalogue will total 2,900,0001b. SYDNEY COMPANIES REDUCE DIVIDENDS. David Jones, Ltd. (Sydney): In reducing the ordinary dividend to the rate of 8 per cent, per annum, the directors state that, although the trading period jußt closed has been satisfactory, in view of the present financial stringency, uncertain trading outlooic, and the general need for economy, they have deemed it prudent to reduce the dividend. Harringtons, Ltd. (Sydney): The directors have decided to defer payment of the interim dividend on preference shares, usually paid in March. They report that, while *2l 1 no reason to believe that normal profits have not been earned for the halfyear ended t-ecember 81st, this course is considered desirable because of the present financial position of the country and the necessity, arising out of the introduction of tne new tariff, for the company to utilise funds tor the manufacture in Australia of certain radio and cinematographic lines.
