FIRE OUTBREAKS.
UNOCCUPIED DWELLING. The Fire Brigade received a call at 1.45 .• a.m. yesterday to ah unoccupied dwelling at 30 Shrewsbury street, Merivale. The rear premises of the house, which consisted of five rooms and a washhouse, were burnt, and . the ■ roof was damaged by fire.
PETROL IGNITES. A further call was. received at 11.46 a.m. to Taylor's Dyeing and. Dry-clean-ing Works, Kilmore street, where <the outbreak was' found riot to be serious. It was caused by dirty petrol; which had spread to a heajj of- coal near the furnace, and had' there flared up, caiisiug t' ol ' the moment the impression tliiat a big fire had started. '
