HOUSEBREAKING.

TRAINING COLLEGE ENTERED. Thieves entered the Teachers' Training Collegey Peterborough street, durino the week-end, and, after ransacking a number of rooms, left wiiti a variety of small articles. No trace of the marauders has yet been round. That the premises bad been visited unlawfully was immediately seen when the, stall' returned vesterday morning. On the first floor, \yhere the various staff rooms are situnted, drawers and cupboards had been turned out, and a revolver belOnpiilg to one of the tutors had been taken. Other small articles, of little value, had disappeared. Entrance to the buildina 1 had probably been effected by one of the fanlights over the ground floor windows, as none of the doors appeared to have been tampered with. Strangely enough the offices of the principal. Mr J. E. Purchase, and the vice-principal. Mr J. G. Poison, had not been entered. although ' the secretary s room had been ransacked. One drawer, l.uckilv missed bv. the visitors, contained a sum of money. This is not the first time that the Training College has been the objective of housebreakers. During th© past two years it has been entered quite frequently, and of late traces of hooliganism in the . grounds have been noticed. Detectives, who visited the College yesterdav morning, took 0 number of fineerprints, but it is not known whether any definite clues have been found.
