SUMNER EXPRESS.
TO THE BDITOB OT THE PBKSS. Sir—-The methods of our tramway officials are astonishing. This morning, on the occasion of the Sumner borough picnic, Sumner business people waiting for the 8 o'clock express to towQhad the strange experience of seeing the tow n!joinc°express held up for several mm-, utes while three or four specials; laden with holiday-makers ambled their way ahead, picking up passfengers en route, with the result that the express arrived in town several minutes late. Surely it would have taken very little foresight on the part of thpee responsible to arrange matters ,so that the picnic trams left Sumner a few minutes before or a few minutes after the time scheduled for the express to leave. Such .methods as these do not commend the tram serv.ce to the public, of whose support the J3° a ™ is apparently now more than ever need.—Yours, etc., February 12th, 1930. fThe tramway authorities, submit^ comment said Sumner as "to tnfi o a.in. * t+ ic not a scs.''f°<wßiLsr s sent them . ahead of the 8 ■ special is S" liXnr C a%"me-tlle f which picnic specials on Wedncsday apparK stopped to pick-up some latecomers.J
