LONDON, February 12. The designer of the airship RlOl, Colonel V. C. Richmond, when answering critics of the new airships, declared that none of the predicted calamities had occurred. The RIOO and RlOl had flown their trials in the worst weather recorded and had behaved faultlessly. Furthermore, as a result of those ships, the Germans had decided to copy us instead of the British copying the Germans.

SUBSIDIES ON CANADIAN SERVICES. OTTAWA, February 11. A report from Montreal states that Government subsidies for aeroplane passenger services are likely. This was intimated by General JW. Macßrien, Director of Government Air Services, who said that the grants would enable fares to be on a par with those of the railways, instead of throe times as large, as at present.
