A CAUCUS NEXT WEEK.

WELLINGTON, February 12. Indications q.re not, lacking that the Labour Party is organising against the possibility ot an early general election. The last annual conference of the Party issued a general instruction to Labour representation committees to select candidates for Parliamentary honours at the earliest opportunity, and effect i s being steadily given to this order throughout the country. The Wellington Labour Representation Committee is. at present inviting nominations of candidates for the five city seats with which it is concerned, while the North Canterbury committee is taking similar action.
in the meantime arrangements have been made for the holding in Wellington nest week of a caucus of the Parliamentary Labour Party. It is expected that the meeting will be attended by members of the resident executive of the Party. Unemployment, the general political situation, organisation, ancj definition of the line of action to bp followed by the Party during the next session of Parliament are understood to be among the subjects listed for consideration. The annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party will be held in Wellington on April 21st next.
