ANNUAL MEETING. The subscribers to the Addington Public Library held their eleventh annual meeting last evening. The vice-president, Mr R. Nairn, was in the chair. The annual report showed a slight decrease in membership, the number for the year ending January 31st, 1930, being 703, as compared with 726 for the previous year. Six hundred and twenty-three ■ new books were bought, making the total in circulation 8903 ' , u V . The finances of the library, although showing a slight decrease, had been carefully handled. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £37 15s 9d, receipts totalling £355 14s, and expenditure £317 18a 3d. The long-awaited additions had been carried out, and the committee was greatly indebted to the City Council for providing two large rooms. After visitors from the Spreydon, St. Marttins, and Linwood Libraries had congratulated the committee on the healthy 6tate of the finances of the library, the report and balance-sheet were adopted.
