Sir Eustace Henry William Tenny-sou-d'Eyncourt, K.C.8., upon wliom a baronetcy has just been conferred by H.M. the King, has been for many years an outstanding figure in Government and commercial circles concerned with naval architecture. Educated at Charterhouse and the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, he occupied many important positions at Elswieh and Fairfield Shipbuilding Yards, till he became Director of Naval Construction and Chief Technical Adviser to the Admiralty. On leaving Whitehall in 1924, Sir Eustace was appointed managing director of the famous North of England firm of Armstrong, Whitworth, and Company, at New-castle-on-T.vne, bis services still being available to the Government as honorary adviser in naval construction and design. Amongst other honours received he was by the American Government the Distinguished Service Medal for work done for the United States Navy during the war. He is 62 years of and a widower with one son and one daughter.
