The Commissioner of Works, Mr George Lansbury, commenting on the New Zealand carillon at Hyde Park. said that it was a splendid thing for the people of Wellington to bring into being what must be an unique war memorial. The public-spirited action of the High Commissioner (Sir James Parr) in making it possible for London to hear one of the finest examples of the bellfounder's craft evokes warm admiration.
