PROMOTION OF PEACE.
AWARD GRANTED TO LEAGUE OF NATIONS. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATtOY —BY ELECTRIC TELBSBA.PH— COFXEJGHT.) (Received December 29th, 5.3 p.m.) NEW YORK, December 2S. The Woodrow Wilson Foundation, under the charter provision permitting its annual award of a prize for the promotion of peace to groups as well as to individuals, has announced that an award of 25,000 dollars has been offered to the League of Nations "for ten years' service in the cause of world peace." The offer has been tentatively accepted by the Secretary-General, Bir Eric Drummond, but the acceptance must be ratified by the Council, which meets at Geneva in January. Officers of the foundation hope that the money will be used for construction of a bronze doorway honouring Mr Woodrow Wilson, to be plaeed at the main entrance of the secretarial building at Lake Geneva. The award will be presented in February, and it 3s hoped that the League officials will come here to accept the gift, if the regulations of the foundation provide that the recipient must come to New York and receive the award. •
