BOXING DAY MEETING. Th« Doyleiton Athletic Clnb'a tporta meeting vu held on Thursday in Osborne Fark. under ideal weather conditions. In the cycle races there were teen and close contests, but the fields were poor in the foot races, many who had entered failing to start. The public attended in large numbers. The principal cycle event, the one mile North Canterbury Championship, was won by A. 11. Erandseu in a field of leu. He was decorated with the blue riband by Mrs D. Jones, and publicly congratulated by Mr D. Jones, M.P., a patron. Mrs J. S. Brake, wife of the president, decorated J. H. Drake with the blue riband for the winner of the Canterbury running championship. BS Doris O'Connor, who won the Highland 1 ung provincial championship, was presented with a gold medal by Mrs W. O. Rennie, donor of tha medal. A. Mclntyre was tbe winner of tha Osborne Cup for the piping contests. Mr J. A. Fraser was judge of the dancing, and Mr G. McAlister of the piping. Assistance was given to the officials by Mr W. J, Walter, president of the North Canterbury Centre of the Athletic and Cycling Union, and by Mr G. Henderson, the club 8 delegate to the Centre. Mr J.
