ATE RABBIT POISON.
♦ DEATH OF TWO MAORI CHILDREN. (.THE PBESS Spe«ial Serrice ] AUCKLAND, December 26. Two young Maori children were found dead in bed at a pa near Tauwhare this morning, having apparently eaten poison. The children were Wera Wera, a girl aged 14 years, and Jack Kara, a boy aged six years. The adult Natives of the pa, which is situated between Kencourt and Tauwhare, went to another pa at Tauwhare last evening to attend a wedding feast, and the two children were left behind by themselves. When the adults went to call the children this morning they were dead On a shelf in the room was a tin containing poiwn, which had been used for destroying rabbits. Dr. Todd, of Cambridge, examined the bodies and expressed the opinion that they had died as a result of eating some of the poison.
