WALTHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Waltham School Committee was presided over by tho chairman (Mr J. Hurler). Members p r p. sent were: Messrs S. Bull, C. Small A. Blaekler, F. Legge, W. Haden, and' \V Symons (secretary). The headmaste- reported that the average attendance for November was 620 out of a roll number o* 653. or 95 per cent. The final match in the rounder competition, played during the week, resulted in the shield being held by WaHham for 1929. Correspondence was received from the Board relative to the painting of the school and renewal of spouting* •tc. during holidays. It was decided to forward a letter of thanks to Mr G. Sey secretary of the North Canterbury Centre of the Piping and Dancing Association, for his kindness in obtaining the desired information in connexion with Highland dancing.
