RETURNED SOLDIER'S DEATH.

(press associatioh telegram.) OAMARU, December 17. Lieutenant Kennedy, in charge of the Guard of Honour at the reception to the Governor-General to-day, collated at the conclusion of the public farewell, and died at 10 o'clock to-night. He was a returned soldier, about 35 years of age, married, with a young family. Heart failure is supposed" to be the cause of death.
