The Beulah was built in Norway, and was put into commission in 1923, running in the European trade. She was purchased by Flood Bros., of San Francisco, in 1924, and. registered under the Panama Republic, she traded on the Mexican coast and to Papeete. This is hsr first voyage to New Zealand* The Beulah's novel appearance arises out of a 'ftddle" bow, and the two, small masts, with three long exhaust tubes after the nature of funnels. The propelling machinery consists of Swedish Bolinder crude oil engines driving twin screws. She has a sea speed of 7| knots. The vessel is equipped with steam cargo winches and steam steering equipment, but is steered by hand in fine weather. VESSELS WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE OP N.Z.
