Ther© has been only a moderate rise of pressure in eastern Australia,. Present indications are for northerlv winds strong to gale north of Otago and "backing slowly to north-west and west, -variable over and south or Otago with east to south prevailing ; seas rough on all the West Coast and about Cook Strait, moderate elsewhera; strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasman, later backing to west and south-west with rough seas; the weather generally dull, stormy, and unsettled with rain, many heavy
