Owing to Customs stupidity on the Swiss frontier, Mr C. W. Marr's luggage, though franked through as official, was delayed in transit, causing him to hjtve to delay his hurried return to Australia. He arrived in ample time to join the Macedonia at Marseilles with the idea of transferring at Aden to the Mongolia, which the owners were delaying for that purpose. Mr Marr boarded the Macedonia carrying only bis pyjamas and shaving kit. Frantic telegraphing revealed that all his baggage was 24 hours behind, so he had reluctantly to leave his ship just before it sailed at midnight. Mr Marr will return to London at once and joins.the Otranto during the week-end, reaching Fremantle three days after the poll. He has cabled his Parliamentary friends asking them to look after his electorate, and is confident that his supporters will rally to his aid in his ill-luck.—Australian Press Association.
