STRUCK BY FALLING JIB.
BOILERMAKER'S SKULL FRACTURED. (THB F*BM Special SerHes.] AUCKLAND, September 13. Struck a glancing blow on the head by the heavy jib of an electric crane, David D»noe. a single man, aged 38, of EllersHe. had bis skull badly fractured. Late to-night his condition was verv serious. Dunce is a l.oilermaker, employed by the Fletcher Construction Company He was working in the company's yards when sudtienlv the rigging gave way and the massive jib, weighing about two tons, crashed through the superfctructnre and fell to the ground The derrick grazed Dance,s head «, it fell and he was knocked to the ground unconscious He was suffering from concussion, but regained consciousness before an X-ray examination was made. It was then found that his skull was fractured from th « forehead to the baso of the neck.
