LATE MR C. J. ASHLEY.
♦ FUNERAL YESTERDAY. Hie funeral vra? held yesterday of 'ie late Mr C. J. Ashley, * member of the clerical division of the Aldington railway station staff, who died while on a week-end visit, with his wife, as the guest of Mr W. Tritt, station master at Arthur's Pass. The service was conducted by the Rev. Canon Bean A Masonic service wan also held bv the members of the Christchurch Lodge, while a representative gathering of railway t officials testified to the high esteem in wfiicn Mr Ashley was held. Many beautiful wieaths were received also expressions of condolence from other parts of Mew Zealand.
